Resident Move Out

Previously, when moving out a Resident without their returned smart key, properties were required to create a replace key and tour all the affected locks, then come back and return that smart key with the move out with credential flow, finally replacing smart keys for all Residents in that the unit.

For keys made after the Community 2.0 upgrade, all that’s needed to move a Resident out without a returned smart key is to make a cancel key and tour the relevant lock(s). Property Staff no longer need to replace all the smart keys of roommates in that departing Resident’s unit.

Additionally, properties can now return a smart key for a moved out resident on a PMS-integrated property regardless of the Community versioning associated with that smart key.
